The estimate is free. Depth is what you pay for.

Your score estimate and your gap map never cost anything. The paid plans buy depth: unlimited practice, more graded free-response, more of the tutor. Prices in US dollars, per student.

Questions

Before you start.

Which courses are live?

8 AP courses are live today: AP Statistics, AP Physics 1, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Precalculus and AP Biology. Across them there are 424 concepts and 2,841 practice and transfer questions, counted from what ships.

How does the estimate work, and when does it appear?

From your first answers, Your Score shows what your work shows so far: how much you still recall, how accurate you are and how much of the course you have covered. The estimate itself is a band for the AP score you are heading for, with the chance of each score, and it appears in one of two ways:

  • Early, for the units your class has covered, once each of them has at least two answers, on at least two different days, and the picture is precise enough. That is usually the placement check plus one set on a second day. The band says which units it covers, and it is drawn wider than the model alone would draw it.
  • For the whole course, once 60% of it, by weight, is assessed (a concept counts after 3 graded attempts, at least 2 of them not true or false), the estimate is precise enough, and the evidence is recent: a median of 30 days old or less.

Until then it says what would unlock it, and its integrity checks can still hold it back. It is computed from your work inside Marlio and is not a prediction of an official result.

How does the tutor help without giving the answer?

It asks for your attempt first, and gives no help on that turn. When an attempt does not land, help opens one rung at a time, shown under each reply: Nudge points at where the difficulty is without naming the move; Point names the idea that applies and hands the doing back to you; the Worked step opens only after two Points have not landed, and is followed straight away by a variant for you to do yourself. When a line of your working has a slip, the tutor quotes that line back by hand with the slip circled, rather than rewriting your work.

What should parents know?

Marlio is for students aged 13 and over: sign-up asks for the month and year of birth, refuses anyone who may be under 13, and keeps no birth date or age. There is no advertising, no comparison with other students, and no measure of mood, attention or effort. Marlio sends no notifications today; the score estimate is shown as a range, only once the evidence supports it, and only when the student opens Your Score. The student holds the account.

What happens to the data of students under 18?

Every account is treated as a possible minor. There is no advertising and no analytics or tracking script, and data is not sold. It goes only to the services that run Marlio: hosting and the database, the payment processor when a plan is bought, and the AI model provider. The model provider receives what the tutor needs to answer (the conversation, any file attached to it, the question being worked on and the student’s first name) and the files uploaded for notes; never an email address or an account identifier. From Settings, Privacy and your data, a student can download their data, or delete the account, which removes its progress, tutor conversations, notes and uploaded files; an account on a paid plan has to end the plan first.

How do cancelling and refunds work?

Free needs no card. Plus starts with a 7-day free trial; when it ends, the card is charged for the plan you chose, monthly or yearly, and the plan renews until you cancel it, as Premium does. Cram is one payment that ends on exam day. You cancel, change your card and see receipts on Stripe’s billing page, opened from Settings, Plan and billing. Refund terms are not published yet.

What devices does it work on?

Any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer; there is nothing to install. On a phone you can add Marlio to your home screen, where it opens in its own window like an app.

Is Marlio connected to College Board?

Marlio is not affiliated with or endorsed by College Board. AP is a trademark of College Board.
